What we do
We aim to support music-making for youngsters in our community in the following ways:
Sparking curiousity and interest
Workshops and practical music demonstrations in schools
Promoting live music in our community
Building links with the extensive list of musical organisations in our communities
Running an Events Calendar on our website highlighting local music events
Providing hands-on opportunities to try out an instrument
We have launched “Starter Packs” - an instrument and five individual 1:1 lessons - 8 taken up in first fortnight!
We provided classroom instruments for two local primary schools
We provide beginner group tuition and instruments for three local primary schools
Encouraging and enabling tuition either within or outside school
We are building a directory of music teachers in our area
We offer subsidised follow-on lessons from successful trial sessions
We offer subsidised instrument hire for those who are interested in learning
We are offering subsidised private teaching alongside our beginner ensembles
Enabling opportunities for ensemble playing from the very earliest of stage
We have set up our own first ensemble for novices – our Brass Roots Ensemble – starting in September
We are developing links with local music organisations that welcome youngsters
Group teaching in schools
Our first project was to enable whole class teaching without any net cost to schools or to parents. This all set to continue for a second year with two schools. Read more

The villages play host to a number of music groups, societies and organisations. There is something for everyone and new members are always welcome. Read more

Our Learn to Play Starter Pack scheme makes starting simple, affordable, and inspiring! For just £30, we are offering five lessons including an instrument. Read more
